Compute profiles — rl_mind.profiles

The practicals size their step budgets with Profile.pick(full, fast_test=...): students run at FULL (the default), make check at FAST_TEST. The base class comes from cs-lab, a dependency of rl-mind.

The course’s compute-profile ladder: how much work a practical does.

The practicals size their step budgets with it, in plain sight (max_steps: int = Profile.pick(30_000, fast_test=600)): students run at FULL, the default, while make check sets NOTEBOOK_PROFILE=fast-test to run every source in seconds. The instructor cell also calls cs-lab’s hardware(Profile), which shows a chooser in the teacher notebooks. Replaces the old test_mode boolean — see the “test_mode / TESTING_MODE” entry in jupytext-notebook-helper’s breaking.md.

class rl_mind.profiles.Profile(value)[source]

Bases: Profile

FAST_TEST: the tiny step budgets make check runs. FULL: everything else.
